Been A Minute
My road to sharing my thoughts and perfume related endeavours is always paved with good intentions. But time seems to slip away from me at an alarming pace.
My business bestie and I opened a niche perfume decanterie and vintage fragrance archive in the heart of Edmonton in the Fall of 2025. Shortly thereafter, I had a series of unexpected personal things arise that required my full attention. This has slowed the progression of our project but we’ve entered 2026 with a renewed energy and focus on this third space devoted to fragrance enthusiasts.
Accessibility. Culture. Community.
If you’ve read my previous piece on being a Perfumista on the Prairies, access to niche perfume in general is very limited in these parts. The primary reason we opened the studio is to remove barriers to access, financially or otherwise.
We pre-spritz glassware with every scent in our inventory so anyone interested in exploring niche perfume can do so for free.
If a fragrance is interesting enough that wearing on skin is a must, we offer 1ml/1.5 ml/5ml atomizers for purchase. Our pricing for these is typically lower than most decanting businesses and sold only within Canada on our website Perfumaura. We see our role as that of a conduit, not diversion. We actively encourage our clients to buy directly from indie perfumers, brands and boutiques.
Our most popular offering at the time of this writing is our Discovery Session. An hour long to 90 minute booking that gives access to all of our brand discovery kits, over 150 (and constantly growing) eclectic collection of individual samples and the vintage archive, all for testing. Pricing is currently $20 per person.
The reason we decided to have our own space, rather than just an online entity was for the culture and community aspect. Anyone who has visited the studio has expressed excitement with the concept and given constructive feedback on how to make it even better. Plans are in the works to host gatherings and swaps.
We have no idea what the future holds but are very excited to see where things take us.
